Congratulations to the Band members who achieved the following awards at the March 2012 AGM -

Life Membership – Chris Geeves

Most Improved Piper – Ken Bickerstaffe

Most Improved Drummer – Liz Buchanan

Bandmanship Award – Andrew Greenham

Certificate of Merit – Matt Holzberger

Ken Bickerstaffe - Coming into the Band as a mature aged student piper, Ken has had to work very hard to “make the grade” as a piper. To his great credit, Ken accepted responsibility for his piping ambition to improve as a piper and to do what is necessary to perform to the maximum level of his ability. In doing this, Ken dedicated himself to the difficult task of obtaining individual tuition aimed at improving his playing skills.

Liz Buchanan - Liz came to the Band as an experienced player with previous playing membership of St Andrew’s Caledonian Pipe Band and the Tasmania Police Pipe Band. Liz is dedicated to a “learning and sharing” philosophy and during the year took ownership of her passion to play at the highest standard whether it be at practice, on parade or in competitions. In this endeavour, she has benefited from an interstate workshop which benefit is being shared within the Band.

Andrew Greenham - During Garry's absence Andrew rose to the occasion as acting Pipe Major and invested a considerable amount of time and energy into developing the pipe corps, as well as managing the playing performance of the band as a whole. He also actively contributed at Board level, and assisted at fund raising events (eg all day at the Bunnings BBQ).

Matt Holzberger - Matt is the champion of working behind the scenes and supporting individual players improve their playing skills. As a top quality player, Matt is a great asset to the Band and is valued by all Band members.
